Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 2-1-24, Isaiah 61:10 - "I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,..." Whom will you trust? In whom will you hope? On what will you expend your energy? Who will guide your life? These and many other questions plague us routinely. In our humanness, we tend to want to control ourselves and our environment. We want the say-so about what will and will not happen. We want the opportunity to guide our own lives, until things turn out badly. God, our Creator and Redeemer, offers salvation and righteousness to all who will turn to Him in true faith. This is not merely a hope; this is a solid commitment of faith in God. We do not say, "I hope I am saved." We may say, "I know I am saved." How will you exult in the Lord if you have not actually spent time with Him, in His word to you, learning His ways, His thoughts, His requirements, His love? How will you stand with Him in the storms of life if you you do not know He is your good shepherd, your way, truth and life, your Christ, your everlasting King? If you find yourself wavering, questioning, and worrying, go back to the Bible and read, contemplate, and choose to place your life in the only Hands that truly love you. Proverbs 3:5 - 6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight."
