Devotion 3-13-24, Ephesians 2:10- "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." God has given us extensive guidelines and commandments for living a life for Him. We can read the Bible daily for years and find new instructions regularly. This is true because God's Word is alive to us through the work of the Holy Spirit in us. God's Word speaks to me and my exact situation, just as it speaks to you and your exact situation. In the end, it is the same word, applied uniquely. How can this be? Each of us is a unique creation of God, with special characteristics, special abilities, special quirks, special needs. We are God's workmanship. God speaks to you in your depths and me in my depths. Our needs are our own, our desires are our own; but, God is universally over all, as our Creator and Lord. As fallen sinners, we tend to believe we are beyond God's help; this it is a lie from Satan. We are God's workmanship. He breathed life into us and has a plan for each one of us. At times, our lives are in horrible messes; but, that does not unglue God. He has a plan for you and for me. He will use everything to accomplish His purposes and His good works, planned before you were even born. It is hard to fathom, but true. God has a plan, specifically for each of us, and He will bring that plan to pass if we begin to obey Him through salvation in Jesus Christ. We are created, born again, into a new life, a new future, and a new understanding of God. We read His word and our understanding expands as we obey. We walk in His way, and our minds and hearts receive His light and guidance. We are His workmanship. He gets to decide what that looks like; but, it is always good, because God is good.
