Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 3-19-24, Psalm 92:12-15- "The righteous man will flourish... Planted in the house of the Lord, They will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him." How does one become "planted?" Those who have no knowledge of God are like the wind, tossed here and there, with no solid footing. They are unstable, easily deceived, easily led into wrong pathways of thought and action. Those whose God is the LORD, whose feet are solidly planted in the house of the LORD, are those whose one desire is to be obedient to God. Those, so planted, will allow God to prune all unhealthy, unnecessary, thoughts and actions out of their lives. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD, will flourish, able to encourage the "less planted" people to look only to God for all that is needed in life. They will speak only truth and wisdom, yielding fruit in their old age. Righteousness is godliness. Righteousness requires work, learning, knowing, acting on, and obediently becoming the man and woman God will use for His purposes. This concept of "planting of the LORD " is found in multiple places in the Bible. Thus, we know it is an essential precept of God. Allow God to be the gardener of your heart. He will pull the weeds, prepare the ground, plant good seed, and bring forth a crop that is worthy of His reputation. He will provide the sun and water and you will flourish under His loving care. Jeremiah 17:7- "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord."
